If you adore an outdoor ceremony in the wild, simple rustic styling and beautiful family touches, you’ll love Emma & Dulals wedding at Chaucer Barn!
Emma & Dulal’s wedding wasn’t the first I’d shot at the very special Chaucer Barn in Norfolk. I’ve worked there a fair few times now, but every wedding has been so incredibly different so I was really excited to be invited to shoot there again. This time around, the lovely Emma and Dulal opted for an outdoor ceremony down the hill and next to the trees. We were blessed with such beautiful weather, there was a gentle breeze as their guests sat in the warm sunshine waiting for the brides arrival.

Getting Ready
I met Emma as she was getting made up by Emily from Love Moi Makeup. Emma looked beautiful already before Emily had set to work and even more beautiful afterwards. We talked and laughed while Emma’s parents got on their Sunday best and talked about how proud of her they felt. Not long after, we hurried along the corridor to the bridal suite so Emma could get changed too. A few mishaps with buttoning up the dress later, Emma was grinning, ready and waiting, then strolling down the hill to see Dulal.

The Ceremony
Happy tears were a bit of a theme throughout the ceremony! It was a short wedding outdoors with two heartfelt readings. After being showered in confetti, E & D walked back up towards the barn where they repeated their vows in front of their parents and the registrar again, just to make it all legal.

The Reception
While there were giant smiles and laughter galore throughout their drinks reception, I grabbed Emma & Dulal and whisked them off for some beautiful couples portraits. They were as heartfelt and relaxed as any I’ve ever done as they spent the time just talking about how happy they made eachother, whilst I quietly snapped away. Dinner followed soon after and again, it was so different to other weddings I’ve shot at Chaucer Barn. The wedding breakfast was held in the lounge with the desert table made up of contributions for each family member. I love little touches like that. It looked beautiful with the top table being outside with the glass walls folded back upon themselves.
