A COLOURFUL, RELAXED TITHE BARN NORFOLK WEDDING – ELLIE AND SAM
A COLOURFUL, RELAXED TITHE BARN WEDDING IN NORFOLK
Sam & Ellie met when they were both having the best time working out in Greece. It set the precedent for their relaxed, colourful, super fun wedding day. They married in a church in Horstead near the water (where else to get married other than near where the boat they spend so much time on is!) and had their incredibly cool reception at Tithe Barn in Norfolk. Ellie had told me that she had done a whole years worth of DIY decor in the lead up, but nothing quite prepared me for how beautiful the room was.
I’d not met either Ellie or Sam in person before the wedding day, but we had done video calls so I felt like I was going to see an old friend when I arrived at their home for the bridal preparations. I’m being 100% truthful when I say that I’ve never ever had a bride be quite so chilled out in the hours before her wedding! Getting ready with Ellie at home was Sams mum and cousins, plus her sister and brother-in-law, with her parents popping in too. It was all smiles, laughs and not an ounce of rushing around – she was one relaxed bride!
Ellie’s gorgeous dress was from City Brides in Norwich, hair by The Hair Boutique in Coltishall, and make-up by The Barn beauty rooms. The flowers by The Florist Shop in Wroxham were just something else – I’m super envious that I didn’t have something similar for my own wedding!
When I arrived at the church, straight away I could see where all the hours of DIY had gone as little multicoloured hearts lead the way in to the church along the path. Sam had the biggest grin on his face and it didn’t budge all day. I asked him if he was feeling nervous at all, after telling me he’d lost the seating plan (whoops!) he just said he couldn’t wait any longer to see Ellie. Ahhh. They laughed throughout the ceremony and after being pelted with confetti, it was time for drinks from the outdoor bar they had set up in the church yard. While all the guests headed to Tithe Barn, for us it was down to the boat yard a few hundred yards away for their relaxed couples shots.
There was no missing the reception venue because they had a red double decker Bus Bar from The Red Lion in Coltishall. Best idea ever when you’re doing a dry hire of a venue and there’s no bar! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves from here on in, but another quick shout, this time to the caterers Funnels Kitchen who were responsible for the Pie’n’Mash wedding breakfast (it was so delicious, could eat it all over again in an instant!). Giant thanks and lots of love to Ellie and Sam, and their loved ones – you made me feel so welcome and I had the best time. x
