Which Worstead Estate Venue should you choose for your wedding?

It is true you could hold a wedding blessing at any of the beautiful wedding venues Norfolk has to offer, however when you’ve seen the Worstead Estate properties and venues, you’ll realise that some lend themselves to hosting your wedding celebration more than others! Here’s what Worstead Estate have to offer…

The Woodyard: The Thatched Barn

The Thatched Barn was a sawmill in a previous life, having now been lovingly restored to celebrate the history written in to it’s patchwork walls! The iconic Thatched Barn can host 120 guests for dining, although you can add an extra 40 guests in to the evening after your wedding breakfast. After your ceremony, you can spill out on to The West Terrace for drinks and canapés. The Thatched Barn has high ceilings with ancient beams, it’s beautifully rustic. The space makes a perfect space for your wedding reception dance floor after all the formalities. The Woodyard is exclusively yours for 3 days, meaning a leisurely set up the day before and gentle start the day afterwards. Getting married here will be nothing short of incredible; Worstead is one of our favourite venues to photograph at!

The Woodyard: The Mulberry Room

The Mulberry Room in days gone by used to hold the saw mill which you can now find just outside! It’s a gorgeous blank canvas for you to make your own; it’s beautifully bright, light and airy. You can choose to host your ceremony in The Mulberry Room and retreat to The Thatched Barn for a sumptuous dinner by candlelight, or host your wedding breakfast in this space after drinks on the west terrace. I’ve photographed luxury weddings and joyous gatherings at The Woodyard and am kindly a recommended supplier by the team at Worstead. It’s such a fabulously styled, special space to hold a wedding. The views are location are incredible and hard to be beaten.

Holly House at Worstead Estate

Holly House at Worstead Estate is one of the grandest properties on the estate, which as well as hosting your guests overnight, can also be used as a stunning, intimate wedding venue. Holly House is a grade two listed building, styled impeccably with three acres of it’s own private grounds and gardens outside. You can host 24+ guests. Make the most of your stay here by using it’s own hot tup and BBQ within it’s walled garden.

Lake Island

Lake Island is a really unique, beautiful space available for ‘Duo’ ceremonies – which is when you do the legal part in the registered spaces but say your vows elsewhere. You can even arrive by boat to the island – the 1930s wooden racing boat aptly named the ‘You and I’.

Church Wedding locations near to Worstead Estate

If a church ceremony is what your heart desires, you can hold your traditional ceremony at St Mary’s located in Worstead Village itself and surrounded by lots of picturesque thatched cottages! Once you’ve seen St Mary’s, you won’t want to consider any other church. Conveniently for your guests, it’s only a 3 minute drive from Worstead Estate.

Worstead Estate Recommended Wedding Photographer

I’ve been lucky enough to be recommended by the lovely folks at Hardesty Event Design who manage Worstead Estate weddings for the last few years now; in that time I’ve photographed multiple exquisite Norfolk celebrations at The Woodyard and in the accommodation on site also.… Every celebration is as special and unique as those holding it. Last year I was named one of the top photographers in the area which I’m very humbled by. If you’re looking for a relaxed, luxury wedding photographer to know that you’re in safe hands; it would be my absolute pleasure.

Making your luxury Wedding Photography at Norfolk’s Worstead Estate unique

The backdrop of both The Woodyard and the Worstead Estate parkland itself are what makes it such an exceptional place for wedding photography. Both during the warmer and colder months, the estate offers picturesque, quintessentially Norfolk views. Even a very casual, relaxed stroll before your wedding breakfast in these grounds offers the opportunity for incredible couples portraits. As a luxury wedding photographer, there are few venues I love photographing at as much as Worstead Estate.

More information about your Wedding Photography

An overview on our photography style, would be that it’s mainly journalistic and documentary with a very relaxed, natural approach. Our approach is to get to know your favourite people and blend in as part of your celebration, to allow us to get the most emotive, honest portraits of the day. We include group photos, but we keep these down in time to ensure you can get back to enjoying the relaxed day you’ve planned for.

We want your photography to feel easy and enjoyable. In the run-up, we offer to work with you both on creating a timeline that allows you to enjoy the day & get the most from your photography too. We have a wonderful list of recommended Norfolk wedding suppliers, should you like to see it. Our packages include coverage from getting ready through to the evening celebrations so no part of the story is untold. Your high-res images go onto an online gallery after the wedding. You and your guests (should you wish) can view the story of your day for 9 months. You will own the personal license to share & print your images from your gallery however you like. We also offer beautiful, timeless albums and other print products.
