HAUGHLEY PARK BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
If a wedding with beautiful, rustic styling, sparklers and a gorgeous sunset in the heart of Suffolk sounds right up your street, check this one out! Bekka & James’ relaxed & candid Haughley Park Barn wedding photography filled with family and friends centred fun.
One of the special things about Haughley Park Barn is The Farmhouse – beautifully secluded but only about 20 seconds walk from the main venue. It’s the ideal bridal prep location! I met James and Michael who were under strict orders to stay downstairs, before going up to a supremely chilled out Bekka and all her beautiful bridesmaids.
Bekkas incredible wedding dress was from Pronovias, bought from The Wedding Shop in Colchester, Essex. The bridesmaids all had dusty rose coloured dresses with a slightly different style sparkly top half – all bought from ASOS! James wore a tailored Navy three-piece suit from Dapper Fox in Bury St Edmunds. It had been personalised to include a cool bright pink lining under the collar with their wedding date embroidered in to it. Ahhhhh.
The bouquets and button holes were totally gorgeous. Their flowers were styled by Julia at The Little Wedding Shed. They were all grown locally where possible; lots of pinks, creams and burgundy with plenty of greenery to keep them vibrant.
The Ceremony at Haughley Park Barn, Suffolk
Bekka & James held their whole wedding at Haughley Park Barn. They told me how they stumbled across it after viewing 4 or 5 others and none of them feeling like ‘the one’. By the time they had driven up the long driveway to the barn, they already had the feeling that they would be getting married here!
James paced nervously in between hugging guests and laughing with Best Man Michael. As soon as Bekka walked down the aisle though the pair couldn’t stop grinning. The ceremony, conducted by Suffolk Registrars, included two readings that Bekka & James were really excited about. One, a song that they agreed on during a past road trip and the other from a novel. The ceremony was full of excited hand squeezes and tears from their family and friends watching.
As soon as the ceremony was over, it was time for a big old confetti line, drinks, escaping for some couples photos and then on to the groups!
The Wedding Reception at Haughley Park Barn, Suffolk
Haughley Park Barn naturally calls for a relaxed reception which was exactly the vibe Bekka and James were going for. There were oversized, classic lawn games, disposable cameras, kilner-dispenser-jars of sangria for guests to help themselves, alongside a pimping station for the Prosecco.
For the decor, they wanted to make as much as they could to ensure it had a homely, creative feel. There were jam jars filled with ivy and roses scattered in the nooks and crannies of the barn, old photo frames, picnic baskets, apple crates and lots of twinkling fairy lights. Bekka and James tried really hard to source anything they needed to buy locally to support small businesses. Awesome hey?!
Guests were treated to an incredibly delicious three course meal by Jamie Lee Smith. Everything Bekka and James tried was so delicious that they said they couldn’t ever consider another caterer!
After a few minutes of couples portraits at golden hour, it was back to the main barn for a sparkler line which everyone absolutely adored. A few minutes later it was time to cut the cake – a complete work of art by Beth Haxby – which was later served to guests after Jamie Lee Smith served Paella – Bekka’s favourite food. Then, on to the dancing… the first dance was a cover of Moon River, by Frank Ocean. They first heard this song on their engagement night so it seemed pretty perfect! Ahhh.
