Michelle & Richard’s Pretty Countryside, Barn Wedding

krispy kreme wedding cakeA pretty, countryside barn Wedding

If a pretty, English countryside wedding with Krispy Kreme donuts for the wedding cake sounds like your idea of an amazing wedding, check out Michelle & Richards day! Relaxed, candid wedding photography, family and friends centred fun and a gorgeous retro styling.

Michelle and Richard got married at Elms Barn, Suffolk on a gloriously hot July day. It also happened to be the day that England were playing in the world cup semi final – cue some excited cheers every now and then from guests watching on phones!

Getting ready

Michelle got ready with her family and bridesmaids in the on site bridal suite. There was lots of excited chatter and laughs as they got ready. Hair was styled by Fossi and Sacha Brooks was doing make-up. Everyone had a quick glass of prosecco together before they got their dresses on. Michelles gorgeous dress was from Le Jour and the bridesmaids dresses were from Fairytale Gowns. Over in the cottage, the boys were getting ready in the most relaxed way possible! Suits were all from Slaters.

The Wedding Ceremony

Michelle was walked down the aisle by both her dad and her stepdad as she is incredibly close with them both. The barn looked gorgeous with festoon lighting overhead and candles dotted around the edges of the room. Michelle and Richard were grinning from ear to ear the whole way through.

After the ceremony there was a huge confetti line from the marquee over to the meadow. At the end of the confetti line was one of Richards groomsmen waiting with the bucket with the remaining confetti, ready to promptly pour it over Michelles head! She thought it was hilarious and I bloody love that photo.

The Wedding Reception

Before the meal, there was time for some couples portraits in front over the house and in the rose garden. The Wedding reception was in the usual stunning Elms Barn style – with gorgeous candle centrepieces, decorated with flowers to match Michelles bouquet. Each table place had simple sprigs of lavender for each guest.

The Party

It was so hot, after the meal most people sat in the sunshine until the cake cutting. One excited guest even climbed a tree. I loved their Krispy Kreme donut table that had a single tiered cake for them to cut.
