A Woodland Wedding at Milling Barn // Gabe & Amy
A RELAXED, PRETTY, WOODLAND WEDDING: BLUNTSWOOD HALL, MILLING BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
If a wedding with pretty, rustic styling, and an outdoor woodland ceremony sound like your ideal, you’ll absolutely adore Amy & Gabe’s Milling Barn wedding in Hertfordshire. Relaxed, wedding photography full of joy and a wedding all about the people in the heart of Hertfordshire.
Gabe and Amy had a thoroughly beautiful, simplistic wedding at The Milling Barn in Hertfordshire. With a woodland wedding ceremony complete with tractor and trailer rides, before relaxing in the August sunshine with drinks for a couple of hours. A delicious feast of table sharing platters for the wedding breakfast, then on to some truly heartwarming speeches and some that got everyone belly laughing too. I can’t wait to go back to The Milling Barn, it’s pretty dreamy for sure!
Getting ready at Milling Barn
Amy got ready in the bridal dressing room at Milling Barn with her bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride and groom. She had chose a completely gorgeous, unique blush pink dress. It was picked out by Amy’s sister Jess in Clifford Burr Bridal and it was the very first wedding dress Amy tried on! Fate.
In her hair (styled by Stacie Goodwin) she had flowers to loosely match her bouquet. All the florals by Langton Flowers were English summer flowers as they wanted to celebrate the natural beauty of an English summer. I love that!
Gabe and their groomsmen all wore suits form Dapper Chaps formalwear.
The Woodland Ceremony at The Milling Barn, Hertfordshire
As the bride and grooms guests took their seats after their tractor & trailer ride down to the woodland, they were entertained by Duetto Aperggione playing. Again, celebrating the beauty of an English summer, there were more wildflowers adorning the ceremony area.
I always adore a woodland ceremony but this one was particularly spectacular. The clearing chosen for the ceremony setting had the most gorgeous light pouring in overhead and the wind meant their was a quiet rustling of leaves all around. Amy and Gabe had three readings; A passage from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, A reading from Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society and the poem I Like You by Sandol Stoddard-Marcus.
The Wedding Reception at The Milling Barn, Hertfordshire
Amy and Gabe had told me they had chosen The Milling Barn as their wedding venue because of it’s simplicity and it’s beauty. For them, their main hope was that every one of their guests would have a truly relaxed day celebrating with them and The Milling Barn seemed the perfect place to accommodate this.
There was a subtle colour scheme of pastels and earthy tones just to tie in with the simplicity of the day.
For their wedding breakfast, the chose to have the Milling Barn caterers serve platters to the table to fit with the relaxed vibe and to let people help themselves!
The Party
When it was time for the dancing to begin, the band RockIt played live music all evening long. Gabe and Amy’s first dance was Ray LaMontagne – You are the best thing. Amy said it was because “Gabe is the best thing that has ever happened to me!”. N’awwwwwwww. While everyone danced up an appetite, pizza ovens were fired up in the courtyard outside to keep everyone going through the night.
Above all, this beautiful, rustic Milling Barn wedding was incredible. I can’t wait to return! If you’ and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer, find out more about what I offer here!
