A RELAXED, PRETTY KNIGHTSBRIDGE WEDDING

Jess and Andrew held their relaxed, pretty knightsbridge wedding celebrations at Searcy’s (30 Pavillion Road) right bang in the centre of London, just around the corner from Harrods. I’d been looking forward to meeting these two for ages as we had only managed to Skype beforehand due to the distance! I was 5 months pregnant at the time of this wedding, so I hired Rich to come along for the day as my second shooter (and my bag carrier, driver…general husband duties when your wife is pregnant, hey?!).

As someone that generally shoots the majority of her weddings in remote locations that are quite literally in the middle of nowhere, it was such a novelty taking a little detour on the way down so that we could go over tower bridge! There was a conveniently located carpark just 30 seconds up the road, which is where Rich and I split off temporarily. I headed off to 30 Pavillion Road – the wedding venue, and Rich went off to the pub to meet Andrew and the guys! Thinking about it, whenever Rich seconds for me, he somehow always ends up in the pub and being able to call it work… haha.

Jess and Andrew had their elegant ceremony on the ground floor, before having their group shots outside the venues doors on the street, their wedding breakfast in the grand ballroom on the first floor and reception dancing in the library. It was really refreshing to be able to shoot groups in such an urban location for once! We took a stroll at the newlyweds request to the Knightsbridge tube station for their couples portraits for sentimental reasons. They got SO many cheers and congratulations shouted at them as they wandered through central London in their wedding fineries, it was hilarious! It’s a good job they weren’t the self conscious types as they had a lot of people watching while we photographed them!
