A CREATIVE SUFFOLK VILLAGE HALL WEDDING

A relaxed wedding photography dream – a super chilled out couple, adoring family & friends from all over the world, a whole load of laughter, amazing decor and good food. If you need inspiration on how to turn the average village hall in to something breathtaking, this creative girly did just that in Great Blakenham near Ipswich, Suffolk this summer. With handmade lace bunting galore, screen-printed favours for all the guests, plus lots of other trinkets dotted around, we didn’t know where to look first when we first arrived at the reception.

Ella with her English and American family, Fabio with his Italian family; I could tell how incredibly fun this wedding was going to be from the moment I sat down in a bar with these guys one evening last year. They told me they wanted relaxed wedding photography and I said you got it, I’m the gal for you and I had looked forward to hanging out with them again ever since. Ella is an artist and you can tell that from the incredible decor alone (but I’ll leave the photos of that to speak for themselves), while Fabio is a barber (you can tell from the whole family having awesome hair, right?). A church ceremony led by a dear family friend followed by a relaxed village hall reception was the perfect day for Ella & Fabio and I had such a bloody lovely time covering it.

Our session of couples portraits were my favourite part of the day; we were actually in someones (rather spectacular) garden as Fabio had asked permission a few day prior and the owner was kind enough to let us. This man in question added extra comedy value to the day as his head did keep popping up in between the trees checking what was going on, giving us all laugh between shots. I just loved being able to take this pair off for a while to take a breather and spend a little while alone together, while also having a chuckle and getting to tell each other how their mornings had been before they became husband and wife.
