Christina & Adam’s Garden Wedding
RELAXED STOWMARKET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
If a DIY garden wedding with gin bottle centrepieces, clean and bright styling and a whole load of greenery is right up your street, you’ll adore Christina & Adams day! Relaxed, candid wedding photography in Stowmarket, family and friends centred fun and one heck of a party in the heart of Suffolk.
Christina & Adam had a totally relaxed, fun DIY garden wedding in Stowmarket. Two scout leaders that first got together over a thermos of “tea” and a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on a camp trip – everything about this wedding was so much fun. I chatted to so many of their family and friends throughout the day and every single one of them was fit to burst with love for these guys. I can totally see why – as soon as I met them for their engagement shoot I thought ‘what a bloody wonderful pair’ and couldn’t wait to be their wedding photographer.
Getting ready
Christina got ready at her matron of honours home, along with the rest of her bridesmaids, mum and grandad. It was a gorgeous setting for bridal prep and the whole morning was full of excited laughter but supremely relaxed – everyone was so chilled out! Victoria Bradfield did an amazing job on make-up.
J – Christina & Adams brother in-law – was a bloody super star and hung Christinas dress on the highest hook in the old barn beams without even questioning it. Her beautiful dress was from Beautiful Designs and her bridesmaids gorgeous green dresses were bought from Just a Day. Christinas shoes were SO up my street, I might actually buy a pair for myself.. Kurt Geiger blue midi heels that she added a swarovski crystal clip on embellishment so she can wear them again.
Adam and his Groomsmen wore suits from Coes. They thought it might be too much to have them all in a 3 piece tweed so instead they have opted for a grey tweed waistcoat with a charcoal grey morning suit. Along with either a sage cravat for the groom and best men, or a sage tie for ushers and father of the groom and grandfather of the bride.
The Wedding Ceremony at St Andrews Church, Great Finborough
Christina and Adam had a hugely personal church wedding. It was conducted by a longstanding family friend in the church of both of their childhoods, one with many memories for both their families. Seems only fitting that they make more memories there, hey?!
After the ceremony, the newlyweds had a quiet moment to themselves hiding out of sight before such a long confetti line! Then we quickly did some family group photos before the short drive back to their DIY garden marquee wedding.
The Garden Marquee Wedding Reception in Stowmarket
The Wedding reception was clean and elegant with lots of gorgeous foliage. Christina and Adam said “Being scout leaders and both growing up in the great outdoors we LOVE everything green! Another accidental theme that has accidentally occurred is through our cake stand, favours and centre pieces/table numbers – our love of a drink!”
Before their guests were called for their wedding meal (which was utterly delicious!), we had a wander in the country lane for some couples portraits, as well as in the field nearby just before it started to rain big time!
Above all, this DIY garden wedding in Stowmarket was incredible. If you’re getting married and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer, find out more about what I offer here!
