The Outside Ceremony at Hockering House, Norfolk

The whole morning it had been raining on and off so Nicky had accepted that her long anticipated outdoor ceremony would have to be indoors after all. Her face when she turned up and was told it would be outdoors after all was THE BEST. I’ve genuinely never seen a bride look as happy as Nicky did in that moment!

The ceremony was held on the lawn in front of Hockering House with the sun beating down. Harpist Zoe Anderson played Christina Perri as Nicky and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle.
Nickys sister Michelle had written a poem which was read during the ceremony – it was so special and personal.

After the ceremony there were a few all important group family photos before we whizzed off for some portraits of just the two of them. Once we were finished it looked suspiciously like there might be another downpour, so together with the absolutely lovely owner of Hockering House, Sam, we arranged a confetti line down towards the marquee. Timing could not have been better because as Nicky and Simon reached the end of the confetti throwers, the heavens opened and storm started up! Cue lots of running and one inside out umbrella.

The Wedding Reception at Hockering House, Norfolk

The decor in the marquee was elegant and quite simple. Centrepieces were a small flower on the table with a few rose gold hearts scattered around. The wedding meal was a cool, relaxed BBQ of burgers and sausages with delicious salads.

I sat on a table with their guests to eat which was really fun and really enabled me to get to know everyone. What a lovely bunch!
